This article is faulty at the start. The constitution does say Congress has the responsibility to declare war. But almost all wars begin with actions of war. Those actions are initiated by the executive. The President. It’s then followed up or not be Congress declaring war. Declaring war is a political statement based on actions taken by the President.
So, the action taken by the president against Venezuela isn’t illegal. Lincoln, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Johnson, Reagan, Bush one and two, Obama and now Trump have done this. And in only one of those actions did Congress declare war. That was WWII.

Despite Trump's reasons, I believe he did a good thing for the people of Venezuela. Additionally, along the way, I also learned that during the event, 32 Cubans were killed who were guarding Maduro. Cuba is a big factor behind this as well. We will likely see more information around Cuba in the future.

This article is faulty at the start. The constitution does say Congress has the responsibility to declare war. But almost all wars begin with actions of war. Those actions are initiated by the executive. The President. It’s then followed up or not be Congress declaring war. Declaring war is a political statement based on actions taken by the President.
So, the action taken by the president against Venezuela isn’t illegal. Lincoln, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Johnson, Reagan, Bush one and two, Obama and now Trump have done this. And in only one of those actions did Congress declare war. That was WWII.

Despite Trump's reasons, I believe he did a good thing for the people of Venezuela. Additionally, along the way, I also learned that during the event, 32 Cubans were killed who were guarding Maduro. As a born again believer in the true King Jesus I have always tried to share with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to stay clear of being involved in the political process to no avail. God did not come to earth to change things through politics he came to change the heart and to change them inwardly. I too pray for our country and it's leaders but America like other countries who have turned from God will be judged. This is all part of his perfect plan. The Monroe Doctrine is what we should have always followed. That gave him the authority to stop the interference of China, Russia. Iran and Israel in our hemisphere. In order to protect ourselves we have clean the neighborhood. This was the only way to start that process. This was an extraction to protect two people. Infor motion is and will continue to come out that would endanger them. You cannot be so blind to the fact that a stop had to be made. Go back and read your history. This extraction was not a regime change. This was a step in bringing down the Rothschilds and the banks ruining our country. I support Trump in this. I don't always agree with him but GOD has been asked to be forecast involved in saving our nation. I’m Venezuelan.
I lived there most of my life until my early twenties.
I watched my country go from a functioning democracy to full blown socialism right in front of my eyes.
This is not politics to me.
This is trauma.
Before socialism, Venezuela was not perfect, but it worked.
There was trade.
There was money coming in.
There was investment from the US.
There were jobs.
There was food.
There was medicine.
My family had five businesses.
We had our home
We had investments.
We had a future.
Then the government started nationalizing everything.
Private companies were taken.
Foreign investors were pushed out.
Imports were blocked.
Price controls destroyed production.
Corruption exploded.
And everything died.
Not slowly.
Violently.
People didn’t suddenly become poor because of “capitalism” or “the US” or whatever bullshit slogan people like to repeat online.
They became poor because socialism destroyed incentives, destroyed production, destroyed trust, and destroyed hope.
People today in Venezuela are not debating ideology.
They are trying to survive.
They are trying to find food.
Trying to find medication.
Trying to keep their families alive.
So when I see people in the West posting from comfortable homes, full fridges, stable currencies, and safe streets talking about “imperialism” or “US bad” or “Trump this or that”
No.
It’s not complicated.
You’re just ignorant.
China is not rebuilding Venezuela.
Russia is not rebuilding Venezuela.
Cartels are not rebuilding Venezuela.
They are stealing.
They are extracting.
They are draining what’s left.
If the US comes in and reinvests
If refineries get rebuilt
If infrastructure gets restored
If imports open back up
If food, water, and medicine become accessible again
If people can work and earn with dignity

Evidently you are from an elite background and failed to recognize that Chavez brought millions out of extreme poverty. Sorry you lost power and wealth. Socialist revolutions are never perfect and often take a long time, due the resistance of the elites who will often turn them into totalitarian states. The basic concept is sound.
